Bloomberg Campaign Hints at Damaging Sanders Info

Bloomberg campaign manager Kevin Sheekey tweets: “The opposition research on Bernie Sanders could fill Donald Trump’s empty Foxconn facility in Wisconsin.”

“It is very damaging, perhaps even disqualifying.”

?s=20

If true, it must be really really damaging. Anyone here could run an effective oppo research campaign against Sanders from what we already know.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

She hoped to get his never Clinton voters.

Bloomberg doesn’t have that problem. Those that didn’t vote for Clinton aren’t voting for Bloomberg. He has every incentive to drop the oppo.

People have seen it. And it’s bad.

The Republicans had at least four other damning Sanders videos (I don’t know what they showed), and the opposition research folder was almost 2-feet thick. (The section calling him a communist with connections to Castro alone would have cost him Florida.) In other words, the belief that Sanders would have walked into the White House based on polls taken before anyone really attacked him is a delusion built on a scaffolding of political ignorance.

With Bernie, it's trying to portray him as some kind of communist that wants to hang Chris Matthews in central park. Not like it's a big secret what the "oppo" on Bernie is.

Big difference. Everybody knows that. Even when given chances to go the "oppo" route, with the emails in 2016, and the Hunter Biden this year, he always does the right thing and refuses the sleaze and innuendo.

28. There is already a ton of oppo out there on sanders and so this could be interesting
Tue Feb 18, 2020, 08:37 PM

sanders is a very weak candidate and would be easy for trump to destroy. In addition to the well written 101 page memorandum with oppo on sanders with a 1000 pages of backup from the Clinton campaign trump has his own oppo file on sanders that would destroy such a weak and divisive candidate like sanders.

trump had a two foot thick book of oppo research on Sanders http://www.newsweek.com/myths-cost-democrats-presidential-election-521044

They ignored the fact that Sanders had not yet faced a real campaign against him. Clinton was in the delicate position of dealing with a large portion of voters who treated Sanders more like the Messiah than just another candidate. She was playing the long game—attacking Sanders strongly enough to win, but gently enough to avoid alienating his supporters. Given her overwhelming support from communities of color—for example, about 70 percent of African-American voters cast their ballot for her—Clinton had a firewall that would be difficult for Sanders to breach....

So what would have happened when Sanders hit a real opponent, someone who did not care about alienating the young college voters in his base? I have seen the opposition book assembled by Republicans for Sanders, and it was brutal. The Republicans would have torn him apart. And while Sanders supporters might delude themselves into believing that they could have defended him against all of this, there is a name for politicians who play defense all the time: losers....

The Republicans had at least four other damning Sanders videos (I don’t know what they showed), and the opposition research folder was almost 2-feet thick. (The section calling him a communist with connections to Castro alone would have cost him Florida.) In other words, the belief that Sanders would have walked into the White House based on polls taken before anyone really attacked him is a delusion built on a scaffolding of political ignorance.

sanders was such a weak primary candidate that the Clinton campaign did not use its oppo but trump would have fun destroying such a weak candidate like sanders

I look forward to seeing the additional oppo

I was suspicious about the recent buzz regarding a possible Clinton VP pick. I could not help but suspect that the Bloomberg folks launched that rumor themselves as either a trial balloon or as a warning to Hillary to keep her opinion out of the nomination process this year. Now we see this. Opposition research on Bernie that is possibly disqualifying? That I seriously doubt. Bernie's not perfect, but I doubt that there's anything in his closet that even approaches the mountain of sexual harassment claims that have been filed against Bloomberg.

It's like Sheekey is just testing the water, here. I will believe his opposition research when I see it, and, even then, I may not believe it. Looks like Bloomberg wants to use the circular firing squad to his advantage. His strategy may be to take out his opponents with unsubstantiated rumors ... one at a time ... around the circle.

Hmm ...
