Will the Senator support democrats up and down the ballot?

He has not in the past.

Which senators do you think we can afford to lose because they are "establishment "?
Sanders wanted to primary president Obama. Was that helpful to anyone anywhere?

Which voters shall we reject?

Which congressional representatives ?

How will Bernie govern? For a member of the political "establishment" (look it up & not the 1960's slang) his legislative record is mighty thin.

Have been listening to Bernie for years. His heart is in the right place. Yes, he could win-- any one of our candidates can win. Why? Because none of them are sadists like the current White House occupant is.

If Bernie wins, what then?

We need to fix a lot of things very fast. We need everybody we can get on board.

Bernie has a track record of rejecting, and trashing, the following:

the possible that can help right NOW

& the less than perfect, which might be just what we need to save our planet.

The New Deal was passed in 1933, 12 years before we defeated the fascism.

Or is he talking about militarizing the entire industrial apparatus of the United States? Is that his plan?

you would know Bernie was speaking of the funds and effort put forth at the beginning of World War II to win the war on two continents not the Great Depression in his analogy.

That's the kind of effort and resources that should be marshaled to save life as we know it for our children, grandchildren and future generations.

5. It took a war.... a world war. And that restructuring was temporary...
Wed Feb 19, 2020, 11:02 AM
Feb 2020

That restructuring was based on a huge number of men being taken out of the domestic work force, required people to ration resources, and took thousands of Japanese out of the work force and interned them. And, as has been said, militarizing the entire industrial apparatus of the United States.

There was also a common threat that was very much regarded by the vast majority of citizens as credible, leading to a sense that not participating in the government push and restrictions and sacrifice was unpatriotic.

None of those is present in this current situation.

And Bernie is no FDR. FDR was charismatic and galvanizing- a positive, upbeat mesmerizing speaker.

I don't see a credible comparison.

You seem unable to accept the existence of nuance and context. Simply because someone may disagree with a particular mechanism of change in no way indicates the denial of science. Yours is an absurd and absolutist inference reflecting more on you than on anyone else.

It begs the question, are *you* really that myopic and restricted in your thought processes?

Thankfully, I take Sanders as he is-- a responsible and formidable legislator, rather than the caricature drawn of him by his own supporters-- a sacred cow intolerant of apostates and heretics should they not blindly follow his footsteps in the sand.

Imagine...

Bernie should know that. Or he is being outright disengenuous.

It is easier to remake anything when it is in total freefall. It is almost impossible to bring about largescale change when things are having problems, but not in freefall.
