AZ-SEN: McSally ties Democratic rival Kelly to Sanders in new ad

Sen. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) is tying her Democratic challenger Mark Kelly to progressive presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in a new ad released Tuesday.

“Kelly and Sanders, too liberal for Arizona,” the narrator says in the 30-second ad titled “Bernie Bro.”

“Kelly is quickly making the choice in this election very clear – a vote for Kelly is a vote for the Bernie Sanders socialist policies of government takeover of healthcare, open borders, and massive tax hikes on the middle class,” McSally campaign manager Dylan Lefler said in a statement announcing the ad. “Mark Kelly will be Sanders 51st vote in the Senate."

The ad claims Kelly said he would support Sanders, though Kelly has given more measured responses when pressed by local news outlets about his support for the Democratic primary’s front-runner.

A spokesperson for the Kelly campaign was not immediately available for comment.

Asked last week if he would support Sanders if the Vermont senator became the nominee, Kelly told The Arizona Republic, “I will ultimately support who the nominee is of the Democratic Party, that’s clear.”

If Sanders is the nominee. Just screwed. We will lose the WH and lose House seats. This is going to be a damn disaster. It could easily cost Kelly AZ. No one outside the coast wants a Democratic Socialist on top of the ticket. Good God.

...a sanders nomination would be the biggest gift to a POS like McSally who would otherwise be on her way to losing with any other nominee..sanders would be poison in the Phoenix suburbs..

7. None of our candidate in purple states or districts will want to campaign with Bernie

They will beg him to NOT come to their states, to NOT take pictures with him.

Our chance to win the Senate goes out the window if Bernie is at the top of the ticket.

Of the aisle. I heard whispers that they were even thinking of pulling her and putting Ducey Douchebag in awhile back. Probably not going to happen. But that just goes to show you how badly she was doing.

There are 5 senate seats in play to turn blue (Ernst, Collins, Tillis, Gardner and McSally) . If bernie is the nominee our candidates will be tied him and lose.

We will also lose house seats.

but everything else would be off the table. Gary Peters (D-MI) would be in trouble. We would lose the North Carolina governorship and cede total control of the state to Republicans. The MN House would flip back to R and the U.S. House would be a bloodbath.

I predict we would lose the following seats:

CA-10: Harder
CA-21: Cox
CA-22: Vacant
CA-39: Cisneros
CA-45: Porter
CA-48: Rouda
FL-07: Murphy
GA-06: McBath
IL-06: Casten
IL-14: Underwood
IA-02: Open
IA-03: Axne
KS-03: Davids
ME-02: Golden
MI-08: Slotkin
MI-11: Stevens
MN-03: Phillips
MN-07: Peterson
NV-04: Horsford
NJ-03: Kim
NJ-05: Gotthemier
NJ-11: Sherill
NM-02: Torres-Small
NY-01: Rose
NY-11: Delgado
NY-22: Brindisi
OK-01: Horn
PA-06: Houlahan
PA-17: Lamb
SC-01: Cunningham
TX-07: Fletcher
TX-32: Alred
UT-04: McAdams
VA-02: Luria
VA-07: Spanberger
