Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI think the field has to narrow before anyone can "lead"
Right now, as leader, Bernie has 30 percent or so of the vote. Unless several drop out it doesnt seem anyone can get a majority of delegates before the convention. So, I think we really should relax a bit until at least Super Tuesday, let the dust Settle and see who is left. Until then it is pretty impossible to clearly see where we are headed.

(9,874 posts)Iowa, NH, SC and even Nev should not be big factors in determining the Dem nominee. States with diverse voters more typical of the Dem coalition should have much more to say.

(11,986 posts)If there are lots of candidates but only one gets at least 15%, that person gets all the state's delegates. So yes, there is a way for someone to get a majority of delegates without getting a majority of the votes.

(9,874 posts)Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the party decided that delegates are to be awarded proportionately.
On edit: Sorry, misinterpreted your statement. Some are going to drop out. That is certain. If 2 or 3 drop then I fail to see how there could be a lot of state results where there is only one candidate hitting 15%
