Life expectancy for men born in 1941: 78 years, 5 months.

Bernie Sanders current age: 78 years, 6 months
Bernie Sanders age at heart attack: 78 years, 1 month

Life expectancy for people over 75 that survive a heart attack: 3.1 years.

This is why his medical records are important. People need to know what they're getting and what his short list for VP is.

1. It's too bad we don't know who his VP would be. Tulsi Gabbard never really made sense

as a candidate, and I always wondered if she was there to angle for someone's VP slot. She never attacked Bernie so I wondered if she was trying to please him.

If Sanders is nominated, he'll need to bring the establishment Dems under his tent. Nobody likes Tulsi Gabbard. She wins him nothing. Bernie ain't dumb. I don't think he'd go with Warren, either. Kamala Harris makes a lot of sense. So would Amy Klobuchar.

But maybe he'd go with a respected Obama cabinet veteran: Tom Vilsack, Susan Rice, Julian Castro, and Janet Napolitano are all seasoned pols.

4. I'm not interested in the life expectancy of someone from age 0...

I'm interested in how many years a person has at the age they're presently at. That is, if I was worrying about a life insurance policy for that individual. Of course the best rates would be with health records...

Besides for all we know someone could keel over and die tomorrow or be hit by a bus... Or they go on and live to over 100. There is no knowing.

Having said that, some medical records (like John McCain did) from Mr. Sanders would help.

6. These statistics are useless
Wed Feb 19, 2020, 12:57 AM
Feb 2020

Life expectancy at birth is pretty useless when estimating the longevity of someone who has already survived even the first few years, never mind someone who has survived 78

Then, putting him in the bucket of heart attack survivors over 75 is also pretty useless because that includes 98 year old heart attack survivors

It also doesn't take into account the fact that if he were to become president he'd have the best health care possible, including extremely timely response to any cardiac episode, which is very important to outcomes.

Not to say health shouldn't be considered, just that the stats you cite are not helpful in this case.
