Would you look favorably on our septuagenarian candidates publicly stating

they would resign from the Presidency in sufficient time before the end of their term to allow their Vice-President to name a successor before the 2024 convention?

Please note I am a septuagenarian myself.

and their presidency essentially meaningless. I think there is some unspoken acknowledgment for several of them on this score, but announcing it ahead of time weakens them and gives ammo to opponents who want to paint them as "too old." and thus nonviable.

Are there pentagenarians? Quadragenarians? Or is genarian just a new way of saying old fart?
