Warren & Sanders supporters, a question

What would you think of a ticket with both on it?

Not interested in speculation about the likelihood, just want to find out what their supporters on DU would think of it.

As for me, I'd love it.

I don't think he got Hillary votes she wouldn't have gotten otherwise. And he did not generate any additional enthusiasm for the ticket. I put VP selection on the list of the many things that factored into HRC's loss. It was a missed opportunity.

Even though Sanders and Warren have many similarities, I think a combined ticket would have a lot of appeal. They both energize people, and I think would generate more enthusiasm than either one alone.

Granted, Abrams would still be a better choice than Warren for VP under Klobuchar. Except for possibly Michele Obama, there is not a better person for VP than Stacey Abrams. She brings sky high voter turnout among young, urban and minority voters across the country. She shifts GA from toss-up or lean red to lean blue. She brings FL and NC into the fold. She excites the progressive wing of the party and its base. She also sets up a bright future for us.

She is largely unknown and is from Oakland, CA - a state we are already going to win by 8-10 million votes. Also, her relative anonymity does not allow her to unite the progressive and moderate wings of the party. She simply does not have the massive name recognition and energizing presence that Abrams has.

Lee would certainly make a wonderful addition to a Democratic president’s Cabinet, though.

...the campaign had not finalized any decisions for Sanders' potential cabinet, determined that there were no Constitutional barriers that would prevent a vice president from serving as treasury secretary.

Would Bernie ever agree to be Vice President ?

Is not the ticket you suggest a bit old?

Those questions aside if we weren't living like frogs slow roasting on the burner (climate change) your proposal would be a welcome solution for this one.

Nonetheless, we are slow roasting frogs, and I do NOT want to lose 2 democratic senators for a year in Massachusetts & potentially longer in Vermont.

Both states currently have GOP governors.

Like them both. I am gonna break your rule and say I think it’s probably unlikely (presidential nominees tend to bring in a vp who balances out the ticket- policy wise, geographically, holes in their experience/resume. Arguably, Warren and Sanders tick too many of the same boxes and not enough complimentary ones) But what do I know? Conventional wisdom may end up having very little to do with this election cycle. 🙂

Probably good to look for someone in a state that is titling - Texas? (Castro) Florida (Gillum?)

I think Warren would be a great substitute for Schumer as far as the Senate goes. I like Schumer, but as far as making sure the bills are prioritized.

I'm for it. Don't know how the candidates see it. I think maybe Bernie is thinking about Stacey Abrams, and I'm not sure if Warren would choose him.

BTW I'm undecided between Elizabeth and Bernie, not totally undecided.

But with Sanders as VP, and then, we’re losing an important part of our bench for the future.

If Warren was willing to be VP, (noting your request for no speculation), I would suck it up and vote for them.

But I don't think it would be a strategic choice for either of them to choose the other as their running mate.

Sanders/Klobacher
Warren/anyone but Sanders or Biden
Any other candidate/Warren

I think Sanders and Warren are to close ideologically to make a successful ticket. The older candidates need to bring on a younger candidate as a running mate (yes, I know that should mean no Biden/Warren but I'll make an exception). Other than with Sanders, I'd like to see Warren on the ticket.

On edits - just read other posts. Abrams would be great, too.
