The GOP and their PAC's will be brutal attacking him as a "socialist", someone who will take away their health care, someone who will give away the store, while raising taxes on everyone. And, it does not matter if they are telling the truth. They do not care, just like the Liar in Chief. Bernie is perceived to be the weakest Democratic nominee. The Republicans are hoping that he wins the nomination. I would bet that Putin is too.
I hope we nominate someone with broad appeal like Biden. We have to keep the House and hopefully get the Senate too. This is not a normal election. Our sole focus should be on getting 45 out of the White House. I wish Bernie had that kind of appeal, but I really do not think he does. Many older voters that I know find his talk about "revolution" too fanatical, and will not vote for him. Older voters are a reliable voting block, and they WILL vote for a more centrist candidate.

And they were won because of moderate candidates that the electorate in those districts could be comfortable with.

With Bernie on the top of the ticket.... ALL of those freshman seats are at risk to go back over to the GOP.

The AOCs of the world didn't flip any red seats - they only won in deep blue districts.

The House majority is at major risk if Bernie is at the top.

ticket. I'm afraid that a lot of voters from the party's left wing would stay home if we nominate Stop and Frisk Mike. We would lose at all levels if Mike gets the nod. Without our base we are lost. So if you are uncomfortable with Bernie I would suggest getting behind Joe Biden.

This isn't just about one campaign for president. The Democrats have organizations and networks in place now that didn't exist in 2010, or even 2016. We've picked up over 500 state house seats, nine governorships and flipped 40 house seats in a mid-term election. This isn't just going to evaporate. Yeah, turnout among the trumpies will be high but the networks need to be energized and activated and I think every candidate running at the moment is capable of doing that.

I think, no matter who is on the ballot, not only do we pick up another 20 house seats but we get the senate seats in Arizona, Maine, Colorado, Iowa and North Carolina and with a fight, we keep Alabama.
