but they always seem to stick with one thing show after show.

that's corporate media for you. they spend the whole day drumming up viewers for later. bring back the fairness doctrine.

having said that, i want to watch this one. bloomberg has a lot of baggage as well as a lot of money. i don't want him. sanders now says no i won't release my medical records and he's already had a heart attack during the campaign. i don't want him.

The one i want, Elizabeth Warren, has been erased. Big poll came out and she wasn't even on it! that is a travesty. I want to see her do well tonight.

i watched the first one and part of the 2nd and since then i haven't watched any. I do have to back off the media from time to time to protect my blood pressure and my mental health, but I think I really want to watch tonight. I hope there's a free online option for doing so.

of "horse race" coverage.

But for more than a couple of those on that stage tonight, this is their heavyweight fight. Warren and Biden could regain their footing, or not; Amy and Pete could build on their momentum, or not; Bloomberg could shine or get pummeled.

The point is that, fair or not with this being just the third state to be heard from, for most of these candidates their Nevada showing on Saturday can largely define their fates. If Joe finishes poorly again, sure he'll still have South Carolina coming up, but the writing on the wall would be in ink. For most in this debate, Nevada is a must-show-positive movement--and with this still bloated field it is clear some will not.

Wed Feb 19, 2020, 07:13 PM
Feb 2020

Same goes for political talk radio.

I think it is partially responsible for the divisiveness in our society.

There was a podcast (I think from a NPR show) that claimed that politics becoming more of a hobby to many people, more like sports. Some of the evidence was the crap that comes out of cable news that purports to be political information. They played a Rachael Maddow clip as an example.

For TV I now have a streaming service that allows me to chose a certain number of cable channels. I have no cable news channels, so I'm not even tempted.

Are talking about. Of course they are not EVER allowed to be seen on MSM. Some of the best were formerly seen on the tv——until they started talking truthfully. Notice how as we get closer to each election, the stations start moving out anyone with a scintilla of progressive thought or assign them to a horrible hou on the weekend. What else can we expect from corporate media? Not much.

It began to sound like a pregame sportscast, e.g., such-and-such a team "really needs to be ready to counter," or "needs to be anticipating" this or that, or "has to expect" this, or "needs to bring their best game,"

The gravity of our moment is being masked by petty analogies to sports. Some say that politics is sport...the MSM needs to break free of this nonsense and speak with solemnity to the seriousness of these debates.

I'm not confident they will do so.
