What happens if Bernie wins the nomination and God forbid has another more serious heart attack?

What if it’s in the period of time after the convention but before the GE and he is unable to continue. Does his running mate take the reins or the person who came in second? The possibility of another heart attack in the future can’t be ruled out. The fact that Bernie won’t let us see his medical records makes me wonder what doesn’t he want us to know?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Lets hope he doesn't have another one, I hope no one is. He seems to have a lot of energy at this time.

Kind of a sinister thought to come up with...

People have had heart attacks, and his was mild, and lived many years without having another one, they took care of themselves, which Bernie seems to be doing, so I would not worry myself about that.

to give us his records. We have to assume they are not good because it would be easy to release positive medical records. Proudly. Puffing chest, healthy old man easy. I had a conversation with my 81 yr old father yesterday about going to the gym five times a week and playing golf three times a week. How healthy he is. Very proud, as he should be. Beating me.

It's NOT a "remote" possibility... statistically speaking, he's MORE LIKELY to have another heart attack than any of the other candidates. Add to that the stress of the job that typically AGES other healthy and robust men by at least 20 years. Look at Clinton, GWB, Obama... fortunately they had the "wiggle room" to be aged by the stresses and demands of the job.

The candidate that I vote for will also demonstrate that he (or she) has the same stamina. I can't see myself voting for a half-term president, or someone who wouldn't have the strength to even complete two full terms.

That's important to me.

No lame ducks.

the party can designate a new nominee BEFORE the election

if our persons wins and is the president elect, the vice president elect takes his/her place
the prob with this is when does one become pres elect, after votes are counted or after electoral votes are counted

according to answers.com - If the candidate dies before the general election, the party's national committee votes on a new candidate in much the same manner as the convention, but without all the fanfare. IOW, there would be a representative from each state with the same number of votes as his state had delegates to the convention. Hopefully, ballots for the general election have not already been printed, or the new candidate's name may not appear on the ballot.

If the candidate dies after the election, but before the Electoral College, electors committed to that candidate are free to elect someone else.

If the candidate dies after the electoral college, but before the inauguration, the VP elect becomes the president elect according to the 20th amendment to the Constitution.

If I were to vote in a presidential

gets leukemia or someone gets hit by a truck.

My husband was diagnosed with an incurable blood cancer that has been manageable since 2014 and he’s doing great. Two years ago my best friend got brain cancer and died within a year. My sister-in-law’s youngest son got esophagus cancer at 38 and died two years later.
