Democrats Won't Commit to Same-Day Nevada Results

“Democrats won’t commit to releasing the unofficial results of Saturday’s Nevada caucuses on the day of the vote, as they emphasize accuracy over speed in the aftermath of the chaos surrounding the Iowa caucuses,” the AP reports.

Caucuses genuinely disenfranchise voters. It allows BULLIES of a particular candidate to intimidate others into voting for him (or her, yeah whatever) because there is no sanctity of the secret ballot.

Everybody has phones these days so surely if something like that occurred at a caucus there would be video.

My response to Jackie was their claim that people are intimidated and bullied to vote for certain candidates during a caucus.

nominee, but yeah, the current way of doing it is pretty terrible. I think what Nevada is doing actually makes sense. Have a caucus, but provide an early voting opportunity for people who can't or don't want to make the 2hr+ commitment. They just need more volunteers (or paid staff...) to handle the early voting turnout so people aren't stuck in line for hours. The same could be said for primaries, which have also been ravaged by long wait times in the past.

I've always thought that online voting would be a good idea, but with the prevalence of Russian and Chinese hackers it might not be feasible anymore.
