Harry Reid on 'Medicare for All': 'Not a chance in hell it would pass'

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) criticized Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) signature "Medicare for All" health care plan ahead of Wednesday night's Democratic presidential primary debate in Las Vegas.

While Reid said during an interview with ABC News's Rick Klein that he thinks "the world of Bernie Sanders," he called the progressive senator's health care plan "impractical."

"There’s not a chance in hell it would pass," Reid said in the podcast interview.

Reid has spoken out about Medicare for All in the past, telling Vice last year he didn't think the plan could pass and that Democrats should instead focus on strengthening the Affordable Care Act.

And Big Pharma, and many for profit providers.

And all of the above will spend whatever it takes to protect their profits.

MFA works, and its variants in many other countries do as well, and the US system does not.

The US system is ranked 37th for a reason.

8. Well an uncosted M4A which rips the current private healthcare away

from those who are either happy with their policy, or are inately reticent about their policy being taken away from them, is a shit sandwich.

This is too important an election to fuck up on an ideological stand. Four or more years of a tinpot dictator would be the consequence of taking a needless stand on something that hasn't a hope of passing, not least because we'd lose the House, Senate and White House.

Politics is about the art of the possible, while President Obama has rightly spoken about the arc of history of America is all about incremental change.

for them.... Socialist (or Communist as Trump will call him) is coming to take your healthcare away from you.

Democrats had Republicans on the run over healthcare at the midterms, it would be handing that momentum back to them at the most crucial time in American history, for something that isn't necessary to over promise.
