2. Health insurance sucks anyway

it should have no part in the healthcare provision equation. Insurance is the only business out there where they want to take money and not actually provide a service for it. Insurance is for protecting investments. Healthcare is not an investment. It's a necessary part of everyday life for everyone and it's becoming increasingly out of reach for most. It needs to be considered a public good and strictly regulated.

I make 11 an hour, can't pay monthly cost of living while living poor and thru ACA I pay $1.11 a month for bronze. Sanders will increase loss income while saving me that $1.11 and I already cannot make it. Sanders would hurt me, the poor, the working poor. It will help the middle class, I get that, but I am the working poor and he will hurt me.

7. I'm glad your happy with Romney Care

I can't afford $566 premiums , $50 co-pay, and $5000 deductible. If your only making $11 an hour your would not be taxed with Medicare for All. It will not hurt you!

How about if we strengthen ACA as Obama was doing before the last three years of Republicans weakening it? How about bring the cost down like Obama was doing?

6. Well, I've done that

Despite having good insurance myself, I spent a lot of time in 2007 on the ground working for passage of the Affordable Care Act, including a hoped-for public option. Didn't get everything, but got a whole lot. Even stuff that improved my own insurance (no caps, free physicals and diagnostics, etc.). I even got a fancy certificate signed by Obama, via the work I did for Organizing for America on behalf of the ACA. I was doing it for those I knew who had been unable to get insurance because of pre-existing conditions, and those who lost or changed their jobs, etc.

But I don't feel like jeopardizing that insurance so much. That is to say, I don't feel like working to eradicate it would be in my (or many other people's best interest). It's been damned good to us these past few years (a year-long bout with my spouse's cancer being the main thing). As an example, I just today received a hospital bill for ophthalmic surgery I had several weeks ago. Major hospital, major insurance (employer-based). The costs seem high for an hour and a half on the surgical table and an hour each in pre- and post-op: a total of $15,051.98. But "insurance payments and adjustments" (I assume the adjustments are the discounts the hospital gives to the insurer) came to $14,951.58. My cost: $100. (Don't know what that's for, but heck, I'll pay it). I have no deductibles either, and the surgeon was "in network."

I am willing to work hard for a public option again, and for improvements (and restorations) to the ACA, expansion of Medicaid, lowered drug costs, and other innovations. Because I know a lot of people don't have such good employer insurance. But I don't see why I should go out and work to dismantle the good insurance I (or others, like the Culinary Workers' Union) currently have.

8. I feel that way but I think a lot

Of people are not that generous, they have it and want to keep it just the way it is no changes.

We belong to strong union and have good medical, but I believe the way I do for my daughter who while making good money only can afford a horrible plan at her company, my other daughter in military that can only see certain doctors, my mom whose supplement cancelled her because we moved her a hour away, my grandkids that aren’t on any medical and just hearing about people that can’t afford their medicine.

We seem to have lost empathy in this country after Obama left office.
