Obamacare has never been more popular. But so is MFA...

A new KFF Health Tracking Poll finds 55% of the public views the Affordable Care Act favorably — it’s highest mark in ten years of polling — while slightly 37% of the public hold unfavorable views.

Also interesting: “Both a national Medicare-for-all plan and a government-administered public option continue to garner majority support.”

1. "a national Medicare-for-all plan" (generic) not THE "medicare for all plan". Most Americans want...

...expanded or universal health care, one of several that have been proposed.

Unfortunately those advocating for Sanders' (still incomplete) plan lump all of those plans under the umbrella of "medicare for all" and claim they want THAT one, which isn't true.

7. Since most people probably don't know the details of ANY plan, approval of MFA...

...probably means approval of the idea of a single payer system that covers everybody. Beyond that, one candidate's implementation of MFA can be different from another's, and all would be different from any version that might eventually find its way through congress. But is shows support for the underlying concept.

8. There has been support for universal health care coverage (not the "trade name" medicare for all)...

....for decades. This is nothing new, it was first proposed when Sanders was in diapers (early 1940s). But trying to brand what people want as "medicare for all" is wrong and misleading.

The ACA has already helped many of us despite the disgusting GOPs many attempts to dismantle it.
On the other hand, MFA has ZERO chance being passed by this same disgusting GOP senate.

5. The poll confirms what most Democratic candidates already know:

Public option is far more popular with voters than single payer.

Warren knows this. Sanders is still in denial.

6. Single payer medicare for all is the best healthcare plan.

Healthcare is a right. Historically Democrats have supported medicare for all single payer universal healthcare. All the way back to Truman. Ted Kennedy. It's a traditional Democratic value.
