President Trump and lawmakers on Capitol Hill have also been informed about the Russian assistance to the Vermont senator, according to people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence.
It is not clear what form that Russian assistance has taken. U.S. prosecutors found a Russian effort in 2016 to use social media to boost Sanders campaign against Hillary Clinton, part of a broader effort to hurt Clinton, sow dissension in the American electorate and ultimately help elect Donald Trump.
I dont care, frankly, who Putin wants to be president, Sanders said in a statement to The Washington Post. My message to Putin is clear: stay out of American elections, and as president I will make sure that you do.

(4,959 posts)U.S. officials have told Sen. Bernie Sanders that Russia is attempting to help his presidential campaign as part of an effort to interfere with the Democratic contest, according to people familiar with the matter.

In 2016, Russia used internet propaganda to sow division in our country, and my understanding is that they are doing it again in 2020. Some of the ugly stuff on the internet attributed to our campaign may well not be coming from real supporters.

(16,086 posts)you'll say it is 100% due to Russia and has nothing to do with ideas?
And if Biden wins it is of course, 100% due to his perfection and goodness, right?

(16,086 posts)is your best play?
Demand that he drop out? I don't see where that is a winning strategy either.
Do you want the party to repudiate him at the convention, have the party chair direct the delegates to choose someone else even if he has the delegates necessary for a win?
Or is it the idea that the left isn't important enough of a voting block and can safely be jettisoned?

(16,086 posts)but right now, I'd just like us to calm the heck down and wait to see what happens in the next couple of primaries.
We know nothing. We don't have enough data to know what direction anything is going, nearly half of our party is undecided at this point.
So, waiting a hot second might be the best option.
