(4,858 posts)...brutally denounce the Russian interference, and the GOP that aids and abets it. Say, in very plain language, that he rejects and renounces it, and publicly challenge Trump to do likewise. Set the sky on fire with this whole business. It could only help him, and only hurt the GOP, without harming the Democratic party in the least.

President Trump and lawmakers on Capitol Hill have also been informed about the Russian assistance to the Vermont senator, according to people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence.
It is not clear what form that Russian assistance has taken. U.S. prosecutors found a Russian effort in 2016 to use social media to boost Sanders campaign against Hillary Clinton, part of a broader effort to hurt Clinton, sow dissension in the American electorate and ultimately help elect Donald Trump.
I dont care, frankly, who Putin wants to be president, Sanders said in a statement to The Washington Post. My message to Putin is clear: stay out of American elections, and as president I will make sure that you do.

(4,959 posts)along with dozens of spies to deploy in Russia and stop this. So obviously he isn't doing nearly enough, and is in bed with Putin, and the whole election is illegitimate!!1!
(eta: turning off the sarcasm to acknowledge that the meddling does actually put into question a lot of our election process which is really really fucked up, but we knew that before today's news.)
