Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI've tried to be positive on Bernie, but this latest tweet is shocking
Dem establishment is NOT equal to GOP.
No way.
I urge him to delete this tweet.
If not, then tomorrow DNC must come out and disqualify Bernie (and do the same to Bloomberg while were there).

(86 posts)That a candidate is going to need to get the support of super-delegates to reach a majority at the convention, why does it seem like a good idea to write a tweet about them like this?

(374 posts)I mean the whole arc of his campaign? How he captured the nomination and then the presidency by presenting himself as something other than? I don't think he's equating the two.
This is actually a smart play from Sanders.
Who's going to fail to vote against Trump over this? Nobody.
There's a massive disenfranchised vote out there.
The middle isn't in the middle, it's equidistant and all over the map.

They want to see the "establishment" toppled.
That is why they voted for Trump. Trump takes jabs at the institutions but he doesn't improve them.
Bernie will improve them.

(114,667 posts)The Orange Blob was a monkey wrench into their entrenched party structure.
Sanders sees himself as a Molotov cocktail into ours.
When you look at the party over the last 40 years (and more), you notice the leadership took a definite jump to the right. While they weren't as crazy as the GOP at any stage of the game, they did make themselves far less attractive to most people. They also started and followed the insane policy of supporting candidates in the safer districts instead of backing people who might have had a shot at unseating some of the real crazies, had they enjoyed support.
Don't forget, Koch money was funding the conservative wing of the party.
Personally, I find this year's run a bit excessive, 2016 saw most of his policies adopted. I doubt Warren would have much of a chance had he not blazed that lefty trail. Also, Klobuchar isn't nearly as conservative as she comes across, her voting record is quite impressive.
Bottom line, don't waste your time on misreading tweets and hating candidates over them. It's self defeating.
Quote them as accurately as possible and remember, we're in for a wild ride of hacked accounts and Deep Fake videos this time. Putin will be up to his usual tricks and Farcebook wiill be chockablock full of deceptive bullshit.

(9,238 posts)Hes been doing well in most all the polling lately and appeared to be headed towards having a good shot at winning the nomination. He must have known it would unleash a shit storm. Why now when it seems things are going so well for him?
Im thinking he must see some problems ahead and that he may have peaked and cant get over that 30% barrier and needs to shake things up again. Unwittingly he may have woken the bear.
