(12,011 posts)I've been defending him all night against smears that he's a Russian operative because he didn't leak classified information about their interference, but this is just maddening. I consider myself part of the Democratic establishment but I supported him in 2016. Not this time, in part because I was infuriated by the way he made a lot of people think the process was illegitimate, even though Hillary got more votes and more delegates.
That said, if he gets 40%+ of the vote in the primaries and nobody else is even close, I do think it would be somewhat undemocratic to nominate someone else. Hillary didn't get 50% in the 2016 general election, but I think most of us agree she was cheated because she got 3 million more votes, and if Bernie is way ahead of everyone else but doesn't get the nomination it kind of feels like we'd be doing the same thing. But if Bernie only has 30% and someone else has 25%, that's a different story.

(7,715 posts)That's your philosophical home along with Jill Stein, Susan Sarandon, Ralph Nader, and several others. The Democratic nomination is for Democratic candidates.
Will consider voting for you when you become a D.
