Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumAs a Warren supporter, I wish Joe Biden all the best in Nevada tonight.
This contest needs a true blue moderate for Super Tuesday and beyond, and Bloomberg is not a good fit, to say the least.

I am on pins and needles about how well Joe will do. Fingers crossed, prayers, and donations. Go Joe.

(11,045 posts)they can put a lid on Bloomberg too. Whatever their ideology, Warren will draw female voters away for him. At this stage, I see Bloomberg as almost as much of a disaster to the General Election as Sanders. Bernie has been campaigning against 'the billionaire class' for 4 years. However strongly he backs Mike at the convention, a substantial number of berners will bolt. Next up the GOP will frame him as 'Mr Wall Street' - and take that message straight to the midwest. It will not end well.

(68,576 posts)see commercials, there is a Bloomberg commercial. They are really good commercials too. I want Biden and Warren is my second choice.

(11,045 posts)I don't like the look of nominee Mike. At the beginning of this contest, I never considered Biden and Warren to be compromise candidates, but that is how it has turned out. I'm starting to think a Biden/Warren ticket makes sense - and that's a stunning outcome.

(2,657 posts)We also think she is a much better choice than Sanders: All of the lefty Progressiveness with twice the electability.
The fact that Sanders is leading Warren by as much as he is simply proves to me that...
1. There are an awful lot of Sanders supporters who really do not understand the advantages of Elizabeth Warren.
2. There are an awful lot of Sanders supporters who really do not understand the drawbacks of going with Bernie Sanders.
Warren is *the* choice if you want to walk in the Left lane. In the Moderate lane, I prefer Biden, but I understand why some people want to go with Klobuchar or Buttigieg. I also understand people voting for Bloomberg, but I don't think his money will overcome people's disgust at what he has stood for in the past.
If I could snap my fingers and Warren and Sanders would switch polling numbers, I would definitely do so. Warren could definitely beat Trump. anders is risky as heck.

(11,045 posts)That's critical. Warren will bring in women, but lose some men. But let's face it - this thing is a mess.

(43,161 posts)Once Bernie's pratfall over Russia is reflected in the public's mind - about 10-14 days away - our best candidates will emerge.
We won't nominate a flawed candidate. Last time Trump and Russia destroyed our great candidate, this time they want a candidate with baggage so they don't have to do any work.
This is DEMOCRACY vs. DICTATORS ... such a clear choice has not been seen since World War II ... globally, this is geopolitical realpolitik ... American voters must be informed and see the stark reality of where they are headed!

(11,045 posts)Buttigieg will bomb in the south. Klobuchar does not have the resources. Biden and Sanders are the last two Dems left standing.

(32,639 posts)I'm still wondering why other people can't see it. If Warren and Biden teamed up they'd be unbeatable. I'd even be happy with Warren P and Biden VP, just to get them both on the same ticket. I know that will never happen though, it's just wishful thinking.

(11,885 posts)If Biden again does poorly his campaign is very close to being over, and if he does drop out he will give all of his support to Warren , along with Amy if she leaves the race to help Warren , and others over Bernie. Warren will I think win the nomination , especially with Bernie's health issues and not putting all his records out there, and others issues against him, but Warren will have another great night tonight if it goes like I think it will. This thing about russia helping Bernie coming out right after it was exposed putin is again helping trump. All Dems should start exposing he knows they are doing this and does nothing to help protect our elections, with the GOP and Moscow Mitch . They promoted russian propaganda they knew was false, protected trump from getting convicted knowing he broke the law, and Moscow Mitch intentionally interfered with judges being appointed under President Obama, including a Supreme Court Justice. It looks like trump and the gop are being bought off , compromised , and controlled now by putin. Trump is either helping and working for putin , with the GOP, or is so weak he can't stop putin from again influencing, but his and Moscow's actions show they are working for him , bribes , payoff, , very , very likely now.
