OK, I will grant that Sanders has just helped me in an argument today

A very business-y guy I know is freaking the fuck out because Sanders's platform includes diluting shares in companies and giving the result to labor, to the tune of 20%. This is actually a kind of cool idea, but in fact it is literally "socialism" like "not even a way to pretend otherwise" socialism, and he's freaking out because he hates Trump and wants him to lose but doesn't want this to be the result.

I kind of shrugged and said "guess you guys should have worked a little harder to keep Trump out of the White House. Was the 2017 tax cut worth losing 20% of your shares?"

He's not happy but he concedes the point.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

....big companies already give shares to their employees? I haven't worked for Honeywell for more than 25 years, but I have 1,000 shares of their stock now worth $179,000! I paid ZERO for them.

For almost 20 years I worked for an "ESOP" (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) - ALL shares in the company were owned by employees.

Inasmuch as he's never worked outside of government he probably wouldn't realize that.

The power to tax is pretty impressive when you get right down to it.
