Contrast that with what he does in Vermont, where he runs in the Democratic primary to keep other Democrats from challenging him, then he abandons the nomination afterwards.

He is not concerned with any one that is right of him. If he is the nominee, he will be crushed in the GE. 20% of Dems over 65 will not vote for him. We lose House seats and our party becomes the Socialist party. He is a disaster. Like Trump, he is taking advantage of a crowded field. We're done

I think Biden has the only chance, I hope it will not be too late if two more drop out at least. Warren will prolly take votes from Sanders mostly. I think the other delegates will then go to second choices which would prolly help Biden. If he doesn't win outright then we need a challenge at the convention if Sanders does not have the percentage and delegates. There is no way Sanders can be allowed to be the nominee. He is tainted, by the recent news and by non dem voters voting for him in open primaries. He is becoming unhinged, evidenced by his recent behavior in the debate and when the news broke about Putin helping his campaign which he concealed for a month. He has no chance of winning anyway. It is going to be awful.

25. I have a question
Sat Feb 22, 2020, 06:19 PM
Feb 2020

A political party is a private entity. They are not a government agency, they can make their own rules.

I am probably missing quite a lot here, but from the outset, why did the DNC allow a non-democrat to run? In 2016 or today? Couldn’t they have just said, sorry Bernie, but you’re not a member of my organization and therefore you can’t run to be the head of it.

I’m sure there are any number of analogies one can come up with in the corporate world or in the academic arena. I mean, it would be odd if the Jewish person were to submit an application to Byzy president of Brigham Young University. Just one example.

And while I’m at it, I would like to express my objection to the terms Republican establishment or Democratic establishment. As for the former, no such thing exists anymore. As one political commentator observed the other day, it is now all the Trump organization. As for the latter, the Democratic “establishment” is so fractured as to be effectively meaningless. And I will put money on my bet that those two phrases will turn up on the most idiotic terms of the year come December.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

The Party really has no good choice but to give him the nomination. Full stop. The time to forbid non-Democrats from running has past.

I'd hate to see the reaction of not making him the nominee, even if a brokered convention allowed for supers to choose someone else.
