"Maybe the candidates who staked their primary campaigns on opposing Medicare for All miscalculated."
Indeed.
To be clear:
NH: 58% supported Medicare For All versus 37% that did not.
NEVADA: 62% supported Medicare For All versus 35% that did not.

(1,713 posts)is a primary with people that typically support it. It has zero chance of ever happening. It's a moot argument really.

(1,713 posts)I love my private insurance. As long as I can keep mine. The M4A and ACA are not even close in comparison.

(945 posts)Since Sanders has not come anywhere near that number I think you cannot claim that a majority of Democratic voters want M4A

(5,376 posts)All those VOTERS preferred Medicare For All.
And of course, national polls and studies show the same thing:
Public Opinion on Single-Payer, National Health Plans, and Expanding Access to Medicare Coverage

But, nice try at a deflection to Bernie Sanders.
All those results were for MEDICARE FOR ALL, not any specific candidate.

(787 posts)The tweet and OP didn't say people support Bernie, they say exit polls show that voters tell pollsters they want single payer (regardless of who they vote for).

Moderateguy failed to notice or deliberately misread that the OP was talking M4A and not Sanders. Read this thread, follow who responded to who. Then you can say to me I apologize from misreading who you were responding to and yes the poster you responded to first mentioned Bernie

(480 posts)Perhaps the electorate would like a little leadership from the 'progressive' party in the direction of progress, rather than in the direction of appeasement.
As my dear old dad always said, 'an effective leader has an agenda, a vision, somewhere they would like to take the country.' Trump is actually an effective leader in that respect. He has a direction he wants to take the country in. Unfortunately his vision is a dystopian nightmare. We need a project a positive vision as an alternative. You know, universal healthcare and other programs which better everyone's lives.
The American people are speaking loud and clear. Is the democratic party going to embrace that change or replace the dying republican party as the conservative party on America? The jury is still out, but the changes is coming, with or without them.
