Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI'm all in if Bernie wins
Hes not necessarily my first choice but Ill certainly back him if he wins. I hate to see all the infighting taking place in this forum. I hope whoever gets the nomination we can all bury the hatchet and move forward.
I occasionally get tapped to be on a jury. Lately its pretty often, and always the democratic primary thread. Lets remember who the enemy is; the Orange Abomination and the rethugs.

(1,713 posts)he will lose big time and take House seats with him but I'll vote for him. I'm not part of his movement. He's spent a career disparaging my party but I'll support him

(3,142 posts)...I'm all in should Bernie lose...however,
...how Bernie should lose will make HUGE difference to many...if Bernie should lose fair and square, that's one thing...
...should Bernie lose due to shenanigans, that's quite another...
...many will be turned off and will tune out taking all their energy and excitement that's out there right now for Bernie with them...
...and in the wake of their disappointment and dissipated enthusiasm, we'll be left with a mountain of apathy...
...and I don't see anyone overcoming this mountain of apathy nor surviving the Bernie vacuum...
...I could be wrong, but I doubt it...

(603 posts)determination to defeat Bernie in second round voting at the Democratic Convention is what you're referring to...and an almost sure 4 more years of orange tinged madness and neofascism for our country. Will the Democratic Party abide by the rules or bend them to defeat Sanders hell or high water?

(1,773 posts)It's never too late.Together, we can help take America back from the dark, toxic cloud that has engulfed it these past four years and help make America a much more fair, equitable and just place for all Americans.

(47 posts)It wont be a revolution. Should he win the primary, and subsequently the general, it will be 4 years of absolute gridlock or another 4 years of Constitutional law bending and cracking to achieve the goals of a congressionally thwarted President.
BUT, I would so much rather have that gridlock with Sanders should that mean preservation of the Supreme Court and a halt in the free fall into fascism.
So I will be on board should Warren fail.

(58 posts)We need someone with a strong, clear message of change. We need a charismatic candidate.
Think of JFK, LBJ, Clinton, Obama. Of all the candidates, Bernie comes closest.
Ive been doing a lot of thinking about this.
He is a risk, but the best weve got.

I would only grieve a little that I didnt get what I wanted, again.
Bernie is so much closer to what we want, and what this country needs than Trump or Pence that I refuse to buy into all this negativity.

(6,137 posts)I didnt vote for him in Cali primary but it seems he is going to win here by a big margin. Impressive grassroots movement he had launched here and across the country. If he is the nominee, 2020 GE will be even more divisive than 2016. I hope if Bernie wins, he would select Warren as his running mate and not Gabbard

(2,412 posts)I support Warren and Sanders but I will vote blue no matter who. If I have to vote for a moderate I hope that candidate gives the ideas of Warren and Sanders some space in their platform. I am really concerned about the 40% of us in the US who are struggling families or living on the streets. I want young people to have the same chance at college that I had with low cost or no cost university.
