Sun Feb 23, 2020, 01:14 AM
Feb 2020

Nancy Pelosi has criticized Trump’s mental decline and she has done it in a way that has come
across as concern for his mental well being. I know that’s not the same as criticizing appearance... but to answer your question if one of our Dems noted his “heft” in a way that relates to his physical fitness to hold office I’m ok with that if it’s done tactfully.

But height is something none of us can change. Sort of like our skin color. So I feel it was a bit of a cheap shot. And I’ll bet it was said almost as an afterthought (not a planned comment).

Yes I probably am being picky. I still like her she’s brilliant.

Bloomberg is an easy target: a late entry, quasi-Republican billionaire who's attempting to buy a primary that is dominated by progressives. He can't hit back without torpedoing himself; all he can do is dodge a little bit and then suck it up and absorb her abuse.

Trump and his minions, on the other hand, have no such limitation. They're gonna tear her apart.

I’m surprised she would say something like that.

Shorter people live in a world that is designed in a way that makes life a little harder. It is very subtle, but it is a reality that is always there. It sometimes can be a frustrating fact of life.

Who can relate to this:
Standing in the aisle of a supermarket waiting for someone to come along to get something off the top shelf.
Walking into a clothing store and having maybe 10% of things in your size.
Often having to pay extra for alterations or for shipping because you have to order online.
Cars are not made for short people and being short influences the car you drive.
Having to keep step stools around in order to get to things in your own house.
These are only a few examples of how not “being tall” makes life inconvenient.
Short people, especially in childhood, have sometimes been the victims of cruel bullying.
And here is Sen. Warren reminding us that cultural standards of physical attractiveness exclude short stature and that people project personal qualities onto a person’s height.

And that isn’t even taking into consideration of the challenges people with dwarfism face in a world where even building codes are against them.

Jokes about a person’s height are never funny.

This is the callous comment on many levels and it is so unlike her. It is disappointing that she thought for even a moment it is funny.

she seems to have no real plan to actually beat Bernie and win the nom... wonder if she's trying for VP.

because for all her takedown of Bloomberg (who is a decent man overall despite his flaws, he is no Trump, such a unfair comparison) she only got what 8% in NV? Seems like her 'strategy' didn't work.

and in case she hasn't realized, we need wealthy and powerful people like Bloomberg and Steyer to donate to Dem causes - otherwise all of the big money goes to the GOP.
