A couple of years ago, a gas station on a somewhat busy intersection in the middle of Cow Town and Poverty, Florida, closed. Since then, the old, torn-down lot has been demolished, and there have been fireworks dealers, Mother's/Valentine's Day flower sellers, and occasionally, mullet/shrimp vendors (who I confess I stopped at once). Since a few weeks ago, it's a Trump vendor, and business is white and brisk.
Sometimes, on my way home I take the back streets. I see "Stand up, Vote Trump" signs, and other depressing expressions. It's so saddening, especially because I live in a very poor neighborhood. Basically, there are a lot of signs made out of leftover wood, and they are placed right by other signs that say, " We sell eggs."
I'm not saying selling eggs or being poor is bad; it's just that they're screwing themselves. Trump and the republicans couldn't give a F about them, yet they think he's a "great man."

(5,764 posts)there was a table and people milling about on a very busy street yesterday with a big sign saying "Defend Trump". They are out in force.

(1,160 posts)If I had a house over 500, 000 dollars, I'd sell it for a sturdy, little place, and use the leftover money to do something useful. People I work with (local college) make fun of my neighborhood until I tell them I live there too. Shuts them up.
