House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, who wields enormous influence in his home state of South Carolina, is planning to endorse Joe Biden on Wednesday, multiple sources with knowledge of the Democrats plans told
The planned endorsement is expected three days ahead of the state's Saturday primary, giving Biden an important boost in a state that will likely determine the fate of his candidacy. Clyburn, the highest ranking African American in Congress, has long been close with Biden and has been open about his affinity for the former vice president during the Democratic primary.

It's not a big deal either way. I'm leaning Bernie right now, but I've been Biden, I've been Warren...hell, I'll even go for Klobachar and others; but my point was I'd be shocked if he supported anyone else. Same with President Obama. I'm sure he would be reluctant to support anyone else because of his close relationship with Joe.
I'm glad it means a whole lot to you and others. It means nothing to me. It would mean nothing to me if Bernie got the endorsement of AOC, or anyone else he has had close ties to. That's my point.
Peeps get so testy. I wish they were all 10 years younger, because that's going to be a factor, along with "turning the MAGA USA socialist" garbage.

(4,274 posts)to remember something about all of this primary voting and which states etc. a candidate has support in. No matter who the Democrats eventually nominate and no matter which Democrat wins the SC primary, no Democrat is going to carry SC in the general election. The solid redneck states are going to stay with the Orange Ruski. We do however have some chances in states that were close last time or went purple in 2018. SC had a turnout in 2016 that was over 67% and we still lost by over 14%. Most of our 2018 gains in the House were not in these deep red states. I believe you still have to use a 50 state strategy because it helps down ballot and in statewide elections but don't spend too much time being worried about which Dem wins in SC. The day after Super Tuesday will look very different from today.
