well guess who benefited this time and who didn't. Funny not one word about the unfairness of it all. Can't imagine why.

(713 posts)The Iowa Caucuses were clearly flawed due to the bad AP that they tried to use for counting. And, even when all was said and done, the top two candidates were extremely close to one another in terms of votes. Pete won, but by the smallest of margins. The Nevada Caucus is not comparable. Sanders win was decisive. There was nothing decisive about the mess in Iowa.

(52,155 posts)I am consistent here. The numbers are, what the numbers are, and if that makes Pete not viable despite his popular vote, than that is what happens, those are the rules. I just find it interesting that all of those who were complaining like banshees about Iowa are silent about this.

I think that your argument would be stronger if the Nevada vote was close. It wasn't. If Pete were a strong and close second in the Nevada Caucus, maybe the process there would merit a second look. But that was not the case. Sanders won overwhelmingly and decisively.
The Sanders people made their position known in Iowa, and then they moved on to New Hampshire and Nevada. I think Pete should be doing the same thing. These three contests are in the rear view mirror. We need to focus on South Carolina and Super Tuesday. But your position on Nevada is noted. We will see how Pete does in South Carolina and Super Tuesday. I would not yet rule him out.

(10,721 posts)Caucuses need to end, as I've been saying for years. This year, Iowa was just an absolute fiasco, and the fact that it was a close race made it even more chaotic.
The agreement was that there would be 3 results reported (first vote, final vote and SDE total), which further complicated matters. The app, the reliance on reporting results over the phone and every other aspect was a disaster.
Hopefully this will be the last year with caucuses.

(52,155 posts)so I agree with that. But Sanders' campaign and Sanders' supporters here repeatedly complained that Pete got more delegates despite Sanders getting more popular vote. Now, that didn't happen in Nevada but Pete might not get statewide delegates despite having over 15% of the popular vote and the same people who howled and howled are crickets.
