Hoping to prove to the South Carolina Democratic primary electorate that Joe Biden is still viable heading into the states presidential primary Saturday ahead of Super Tuesday, the former vice presidents campaign on Sunday rolled out nearly a dozen new Orangeburg County endorsements that include two state senators and the partys chairman.
Democratic state Sens. Brad Hutto and John Matthews the longest-serving African-American lawmaker in the General Assembly and Orangeburg County Democratic Party chairman Kenneth Glover are among 11 new names who are backing Bidens 2020 bid.
Other names include former party chairwoman Betty Henderson, Orangeburg Mayor Michael Butler and other elected officials
Bidens campaign says those endorsements now make 180 in the state, home to the countrys First in the South presidential primary
In a statement, Henderson said Biden is the candidate to unite the country and step into the Oval Office on the first day to undo the damage (President Donald) Trump has done.
Joe has a bold vision that will not only restore our standing in the world, but make substantial progress on the issues that matter most to South Carolinians, like building on Obamacare and boosting access to health care in rural communities, Henderson said

What has hurt Joe the most in the polls I think was Bloomberg entering the race
I am so angry at him for him doing what he is doing. Not only hurting Biden the most, but fragmenting the non-Sanders Democrats, by making it more likely that either Sanders gets the nomination, or we end up with a contested election. Either scenario is not good
Maybe after the debates, and if Joe exceeds expectations in South Carolina, it can provide momentum into Super Tuesday, and diminish Bloombergs impact

(69 posts)Dont shoot the messenger, but I am predicting that Bernie takes SC by at least 60%. I could be wrong. We will know in a few days one way or another.
If that happens, what does that mean for the others?
I agree that Bloomberg is drawing off support of everyone else diluting the non Bernie voting block.

EDIT: Also, Bloomberg is not on the ballot in South Carolina and write-ins are not allowed in primaries there.
