(10 posts)which is anti-trump. Like Warren and Bloomberg I am a former Republican. Some here will not like everything I say, but it is aimed at the swing voter who voted for Trump last election and realize they made a mistake. These are the voters Biden and the "Moderate" candidates say we have to get. I think as one of them (voted Twice for Obama and then Trump) I may be able to communicate with them in a way that is effective. Since I do not want to break the TOS, I will post none of it here. However, this is the link [link:http://onlysolutionsmatter.com/]
I welcome comments since it still is under construction.

You'll be sorry when nobody like Bernie is out there anymore.
A little history lesson:
Havana Nocturne: How the Mob Owned Cuba and Then Lost It to the Revolution -by T.J. English
In the 1950s, the Mob; with the corrupt, repressive government of brutal Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista in its pocket; owned Havana's biggest luxury hotels and casinos, launching an unprecedented tourism boom.
When Castro and Che Guevara overthrew the brutal Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista all the American organized crime syndicate was finished in Cuba. Thats not bad either.
There were Cubans who fled to America that were afraid of going to prison after organized crime and the corrupt government was ousted. and there were people who just wanted to leave. But those people who wanted to go back and people in organized crime were still working to overthrow Castro.
In 1959, Fidel Castro came to power when the revolution overthrew Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista. The US government distrusted Castro because of his relationship with Nikita Khrushchev. Before his inauguration, John F. Kennedy was briefed on a plan by the CIA developed during the Eisenhower administration to train Cuban exiles for an invasion of their homeland. The plan anticipated that the Cuban people and elements of the Cuban military would support the invasion to overthrow Castro, and the establishment of a government friendly to the United States. It has been suggested that all of this could have played a role in the JFK assassination. Kennedy was furious at the CIA because he was lied to about the Cuban people raising up. He said he would smash the CIA into a thousand pieces.
One reason a dictator like Batista and others got control over the country and its people was their poor education and illiteracy. Thats what really does happen when you have an uneducated public.
Thomas Jefferson: An educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people.
Bernie Sanders, "Immediate initiation of an intensive campaign against illiteracy was a good thing, he said about Castro.
By the way I saw a video of Obama saying the same things about Castro and literacy.

(11,986 posts)...basically it was because Sanders thought Obama was capitulating too much to the right (things like support for the "grand bargain" that would cut social security with chained cpi), and felt maybe there should be some pressure from the left, instead of the left being looked at as a force that could be ignored because they had nowhere else to go.
Funny how some people can't get past this even though he ultimately decided not to support any challenge, while Ted Kennedy is still lionized despite ACTUALLY primarying a Democratic incumbent.
I think maybe we need a new acronym, IOKIYNS, It's OK If You're Not Sanders.
(p.s. a time of racist attacks on Obama? When were there NOT? Anyway, the timing would have been based on when the election was, that's all.)

Help convince? No, I did not think it would help convince you of anything, but that wasn't the goal. I just was providing the info to answer your question, I thought it could help with that. I certainly didn't expect you to change your mind and think it was a good idea! Heck, ultimately, even HE didn't think it was a good idea, and didn't pursue it!

(11,986 posts)I just wanted to give you the explanation you asked for.
Though I would say that it is not correct to say "He tried to mortally harm Obama's reelection" because, after all, he decided not to pursue the idea. Unless you think that merely the conversation about it was enough to create actual damage. But I kinda think it is unlikely that that interview cost Obama any votes.

(38,687 posts)2010 - Obama & Biden are toiling to craft a deal w/ the GOP to get an extension of unemployment benefits by extending parts of 09's 'The Stimulus.' Bernie filibusters Obama's deal with a 8 1/2 speech on Senate floor.
During the filibuster he derides the tax cuts the GOP ask for in the deal, mocking the wealthy beneficiaries of the cuts who own multiple homes with "Enough is enough! ... How many homes can you own?'
Obama's deal passes easily, the unemployed keep getting their checks. Thanks Obama! Meanwhile Bernie cashes in by turning the transcript of the speech into a book ingeniously titled 'The Speech.' Makes a little over $30k.
He also catches the attention of the ratfuckers from the left.
'Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone praised the book saying Bernie Sanders is such a rarity, and people should appreciate what hes doing not just for his home state of Vermont, but for the reputation of all politicians in general.
In response to the speech, hundreds of people signed online petitions urging Sanders to run in the 2012 presidential election, and pollsters began measuring his support in key primary states. Progressive activists such as Rabbi Michael Lerner and economist David Korten publicly voiced their support for a prospective Sanders run against President Obama. While Sanders declined to run for president in 2012 (instead running for re-election to the Senate), he would later run in 2016 and again in 2020.' - Wiki
Yep, Bernie waited, then ran in the 2016 primary instead. Lost to Hillary. Then he signed a fat deal to write about the campaign, the Guardian noting 'Throughout the year, both Bernie and his wife, Jane, kept records and notes. Sanders is using these as the basis for much of the text..'
Just prior to the 2016 convention Bernie gets a $795k advance for his book. Less than thirty days later he's plunking down cash to close on a common $600k cabin on the shores of Lake Champlain. His 3rd house. His multiple house. The very thing he complained about in the speech that begat the book that got the attention which spurred him to run and after losing cashes in and buys a 3rd home which he complained about in the speech that...

(11,986 posts)...he wasn't railing against people having multiple homes. He was railing against tax cuts for people making over $250k. Essentially, "there's no need to give rich people tax cuts so they can buy more homes, how many do they need?" He's been earning more since then, but he still doesn't support low taxes for the wealthy, even as he has joined them.
