Democratic Primaries

The Democratic Partys presidential nominee will face a formidable general election opponent in Republican President Donald Trump, an incumbent armed with a strong economic record and a force of personality that has spawned a fiercely loyal base of supporters.
It is vital, then, for the Democrats to nominate an energetic, disciplined candidate who can offer voters a powerful yet pragmatic vision of a better America. The Democrats need a nominee who seeks to bring Americans together based on broad common ground and not divide them along narrow interests.
Among the Democratic presidential candidates, former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg is the best person to meet these challenges.

(497 posts)I dont think that Trump can lay a glove on him. What's Trump going to do? Accuse him of being gay? Everybody already knows that as much as we know that Trump is a bully, a liar, an idiot, a narcissist, and an absolute creep.

(2,227 posts)I would only suggest that instead of picking fights with any of the democratic delegates, you should indicate that you would CONSULT the other democratic candidates on solutions.
Honestly, I felt uncomfortable when you attacked any of the other candidates. You were the new, smart voice of reason, empathy, searching for NEW solutions to old problems. It seemed so unlike you to be hurtful to another. And words and tone can be hurtful, even though there isn't a hurtful intent.
Yes, the problems facing the average American are very important, but ALL the candidates have solutions that, with tweaking, or combining, can work. There is no single solution, only a mixture of the good from all the options being suggested. It would show humility, seeking the intelligence of the other candidates, rather than belittling their offered solutions. Consensus is good. There is strength in a unified purpose.
Then turn your smart wit, and ability to frame an issue eloquently and passionately, on the turd. HE is the one that needs to be hurt.
And be blunt. Cut him to the quick. He HATES being challenged or ridiculed. He is such an easy mark. Take advantage of it.
The candidate who turns from attacking the other candidates, and concentrates fully on the turd, with in your face honesty, will get a really positive response from the voters.
But that is just my 2 cents, and 2 cents won't buy anything nowadays.

(8,000 posts)but most (if not all) criticisms of other candidates have been in response to an attack from that other candidate. Amy is a good example. She attacked him by misrepresenting something he'd said, and at the next debate, he hit back.
I do like that he's unafraid to give direct answers to questions rather than trying to spin an answer out of smoke and mirrors like some do.
