Bloomberg is in the somewhat unique position to do exactly that, in part because I don't think he cares if he's the nominee as long as he can get rid of Trump. I think everything else is secondary.

I'd prefer that he throw his weight behind one of the other candidates, but Trump has to go and Bloomberg seems to understand how to get to him effectively. We're going to need all the help we can get, regardless of the nominee, particularly in down-ticket races which would very likely be helped by damaging Trump.
