(2,021 posts)Way back when David Brinkley was still doing election night coverage on NBC, on every election night he always would explain the origin of the term "yellow-dog Democrat". It comes from the days of the old Solid South, when the south was reliably Democratic in presidential elections. Southerners were called "yellow-dog Democrats", Brinkley explained, because if the Democrats nominated a yellow dog, they would vote for him.
Well, I'm a yellow-dog Democrat, more so this year than ever before. I'm sure the Democrats are not going to nominate a yellow dog, but if they do, I'll vote for him. A yellow dog would be a vast improvement over that arrogant, vindictive con man who's in the White House now.
I love Bernie, and Warren too, I think she's a younger, healthier, more energetic and female version of Bernie, so I would love to have either of them as my president.
