Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumMy Gawd You Are Attacking Bernie With What? Really?
Bernie said 1% of what Castro did wasn't horrible, and it is like the end of the world.
God Help Us. Bernie stop saying things that are actually true. We need to make demagogues out of every single thing that doesn't prove the USA is the greatest country in the entire universe, and our poop doesn't ever stink. America First, Second, Third, and Fourth all at once!!!!! Get with the program Bernie.
Maybe if Cuba wasn't hosting so many corrupt Americans, and the mob there would have never been a Castro, ya think?
I guess Cubans didn't like our mafia running their country, and chose a horrible solution. Fidel. Look at all the rich Cubans who were making $$$$ off the gambling, drugs, and prostitution that had to flee. It's not like they lived in a democracy ran by the rule of the people.
I am no Cuba expert but the poor there were being treated like crap before "The Revolution" according to what I have seen in documentaries.
"Things" are a little more complicated than a regular American's brain can comprehend. Most folks here don't even know the difference between communism, and socialism. They pay too much attention to the Sarah Palin's of the world. Being a stupid lemming is celebrated on the Republican side.

(5,376 posts)head to head in those battleground states.
Sanders is killing Trump in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan, as just one example.
You keep pushing the results from the one NBC/WSJ poll as if that's the only poll out there.
We all know that multiple polls should be averaged together to get a truer result.

(5,376 posts)lets look at Pennsylvania for example:
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/Pennsylvania.html
All the Dems beat or tie Trump.
There are not that many Polls.
And finally, Biden was outside the MOE in only ONE of the two Pennsylvania Polls and in fact Biden was only at +1 in the other poll!
So, I think I have made my point that you are basing waaaay too much on that ONE NBC/WSJ poll.
Looking at multiple polls ate RCP POLLS paints quite a different picture.
Enjoy your evening.
The debate is about to start!

(4,619 posts)Especially ones that write about sex.
If I was Trump I would want to avoid all the sex stuff.
Just think, for every woman that claimed Trump attacked them, there are 20 who got paid off, or scared off and kept it to themselves.

(4,619 posts)"Back in power, and receiving financial, military, and logistical support from the United States government,[7][8] Batista suspended the 1940 Constitution and revoked most political liberties, including the right to strike. He then aligned with the wealthiest landowners who owned the largest sugar plantations, and presided over a stagnating economy that widened the gap between rich and poor Cubans.[9] Eventually it reached the point where most of the sugar industry was in U.S. hands, and foreigners owned 70% of the arable land.[10] As such, Batista's repressive government then began to systematically profit from the exploitation of Cuba's commercial interests, by negotiating lucrative relationships with both the American Mafia, who controlled the drug, gambling, and prostitution businesses in Havana, and with large U.S.-based multinational companies who were awarded lucrative contracts."

I am no Castro fan. He belonged at the Hague for killing and torturing thousands, with a lot of other people. Like a whole bunch of our banksters.

(70,102 posts)they made their fortune in cuban rum.
trouble is, bernie could have given a great historical perspective on cuba, what it was like, why they elevated castro, why that was a mistake, and how to go forward from here.
i guess that might have caused him to have to tip his hat to obama, and we know he wouldnt like to do that.
might have even caused him to reflect a bit about just how on track his own "revolution" is, and what happens when your army is full of thugs.
