By very smart people who seem to have proven they can use social media to turn significant swaths of the electorate into useful idiots for enemies of the people foreign and domestic. Depending on how other states go, they may need Sanders to come out of FL with the most delegates.

Anyone who watches the videos of Bernie and Obama can easily tell that they were making exactly the same point. The other campaigns aren't stupid, they know this as well. They decide to ignore that to take shots at Bernie.

Which, OK, that's politics. But at the same time, Bernie is the favorite to be the nominee. And every time Dems smear other Dems, it gives the GOP ammunition to say "see, even Dems say ________" in the general election.

There are now several distincts in South Florida where Cuban-Americans are either a majority or a plurality than are represented by Democrats. That would have been unthinkable 20 years ago.

Cuban families are very tight knit. Once the Castro aspect is injected in this race yes it will be the older Cubans most vocal and outraged but it will transfer to the family block as a whole. We are going to bleed support all over the place.

FL-26 will definitely return to the GOP and I wouldn't be shocked if FL-27 flipped also. Countless local races.

And will impact beyond 2020. That is the devastating aspect. Cubans have pride and long memories. Any strides Democrats have made will be largely wiped out by nominating a pro-Castro socialist. Cubans will be convinced their long term opinions of Democrats had been correct all along.

Sheesh.

This hand wringing I guess is predictable during a hotly contested primary, but those voters in Florida still fighting against Castro have never voted for a Democrat for president anyway.

I suspect a lot of Florida folks are just as concerned about affordable health care as is everyone else in the country.

Frankly, I am tired of Republicans and Democrats who still have to have a '2 minutes hate' against all of the 'approved' enemies of the United States.

I think this is a tempest in a teapot ... Trump is going to accuse any Democratic nominee for president to be a socialist/communist and an appeaser. What is more important is how this is turned around on Trump who really does send love letters to dictators.

There's no question in my mind that too much has been made of Bernie's comments. I swear, the way it's going, if a tape surfaces of Bernie returning from a visit to the USSR and saying, "Gee, the Bolshoi Ballet performance that we saw was really terrific", he'll branded as a Stalin admirer, in favor of shipping people off to gulags.

But having to explain this over and over again to voters is not where we want to be, and I do fear that there will be a great cost to his campaign, and to the Democratic Party.

Scott is going to work the Puerto Ricans like he did during his campaign against Nelson. What is usually a very solid Democratic block has shown that they are open to change. When Scott went to Puerto Rico, it won them over. Prior to the primary and the election, each candidate needs to go to Puerto Rico and show they care and are interested in getting what they need.
