Buttigieg Cancels Four-Stop Swing to Florida

Washington Post: “Multiple aides to Buttigieg said he is sick and needed a day to rest. Buttigieg looked sweatier than usual during the debate and appeared to have a cough drop in his mouth at various moments. He has maintained one of the more rigorous schedules of any of the candidates and will still appear at a breakfast in Charleston on Wednesday morning. Three of the events scheduled in South Florida were fundraisers, meaning the cancellation could be a costly one for Buttigieg.”

“His campaign has been pushing to raise $13 million by Super Tuesday, and it sent a several-page memo to supporters outlining where and why it needs money for ad buys.”

He needed this campaign stop and he needed those fundraisers to get on the air in advance of Super Tuesday.

It is impressive that he did so well in last night's debate while battling illness.

I did noticed that he coughed a time or two last night. He was still pretty effective, although it was almost in a Greek-chorus sort of way, interrupting Mayor Bloomberg and Sen. Sanders with pointed barbs. He's impressive. I would not be able to debate Mayor Buttigieg without some serious preparation on just about anything outside of Star Trek and Star Wars. And maybe the NFL, college basketball and baseball.

Feel better, Mayor.

That said, no, he has no path to the nom. I want him to run for governor or U.S. Senate in Indiana in the next appropriate cycle.

They barely give him time to rest or even sleep. He's giving this campaign everything he's got. It's remarkable he was still able to perform well in the debate.

I wish more people viewed his youth and endurance as an important asset. It seems like it's only a minor consideration for most voters.
