(25,464 posts)"The campaigns of participating candidates will have a set number of free tickets to distribute to their supporters."
"Can attest to this the @DNC has provided @swingleft with tickets to several presidential debates for our volunteer leaders in the area. These are folks who knock doors, make calls, and write letters to voters year round.
Didnt cost us a dime! 🤷🏻?♀️ https://t.co/QZI3zvQEI6"
"The South Carolina Democratic Party said that their group had 400 tickets to distribute, and that they had sold no individual tickets:
Out of the nearly 400 tickets that we were able to allocate for this evenings debate, we welcomed hundreds of activists, county party leaders, community leaders, State Representatives, State Senators, candidates, & elected officials from every level of government in SC at no cost"

(25,464 posts)The conclusion was that "some" tickets were available for purchase, which is technically true, though they were intended for sponsors and included events other than the debate.
The assertion that all tickets were $1750 and up, which many, many people are repeating as a fact on DU, is false.
Most tickets were free.
