Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumBloomberg (CNN town hall) just repeated commitment to using his money to help our nominee,
and to use his campaign offices as well, no matter who our nominee is.
Loud applause in response to that.

(31,261 posts)My guess is he will do a lot more than that in 2020. He pulls in $2 billion per year before taxes, even if he did nothing but bathe and brush his teeth each morning.
BTW, Warren Buffett just publicly said that he is a democrat. My guess is Bezos also leans democrat, even as Bernie hammers him.

(31,261 posts)using them, then change the tax code.
Bezos pays Amazon employees a minimum of $15 per hour. The minimum wage in many states is close to half that amount. So Amazon employees are doing better than their peers in most states, including all blue states (some blue cities have $15 minimum, but only Washington State is actively pushing toward $15 statewide).
Is $15 and adequate wage? The wage generates $600 per week before taxes. Assuming an 18% federal income tax, a 3.2% FICA tax and a 1.48% Medicare tax, and no state tax, and no healthcare contribution, that leaves a person with $1,855 per month take home pay or $22,268 per year. If a person is single and frugal, that person would eek by, anyone else that doesn't have a working spouse or no kids are screwed. But, Bezos pays more than the companies around him in most places, so if his people are struggling, a lot of people are struggling - the question is how to fix that. I know one way that we will not fix it, that is allow Trump to get reelected because we are chasing impossible to achieve objectives.
