Would Sanders?
Does he support, will he promote free market?

I think you could have answered your question by going to his website.

(6,960 posts)Either with the public option or with single-payer, the more we move away from employer-based health insurance, the better for all businesses.
I've never understood why many business owners like paying for the employees (and often their families) health insurance.
Either with Sanders or Klobuchar, the more money we can put into the hands of working folks, the better. Nothing promotes the free market like consumers with disposable income.

(4,959 posts)As a small mom and pop business owner, a niche bricks and mortar business that every neighborhood likes to have, many of Sanders policies would make my life much more manageable.
Medicare for All, in and of itself, would mean that we wouldn't spent 15% of our gross pay (which is barely $30k) plus a couple thousand a year in deductibles and co pays and prescriptions on health care. That's through the ACA, our costs have gone up every year since it started, and our choices have become fewer as insurers leave certain markets because their profits aren't big enough.
Instead, we would pay 4% of our household income above $29k in an income tax, which is next to nothing, along with the employer's share of 7.5% of our paychecks. Even with paying the employers share, since it's our own business, we'd pay less than half what we do now.
And for businesses that provide insurance to their employees, that 7.5% payroll tax is assuredly less than what they're currently paying in premiums and administration.
We have 1 part time employee and we pay her $15 an hour. I will gladly pay another 7.5% based on her wages in order to make sure everyone has health care. She currently gets hers through her main employer. If she loses her job or has a health crisis that means she can't work, she will lose her insurance. She needs MFA to protect her well being.
So yes, Bernie is good for entrepreneurs (as much as that word is not my favorite, hubby and I are among the people who get called that regularly, lol).
That's just health care.
Arguably, student loan debt discourages entrepreneurship because income is unpredictable when you start a business, and you need to make steady payments.
Minimum wage - local spending tends to increase when wages go up, so our neighbors can better help support our business and we can better serve them.
Bank regulations- dont even get me started, lol.
I could go on, but typing on my phone is making my wrist hurt.
Point is, his policies make entrepreneurship easier, not harder.
