Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumIf this person was at the invite of Sanders at Seattle rally
She just wrote an ad for the GOP and she needs to be called out by our party. We are so doomed if radicals are given speaking spots. Outragous..
.."we need a powerful socialist movement to end all capitalist oppression and exploitation.
- Radical Socialist and BernieSanders surrogate, Kshama Sawant of the Seattle City Counsel.

(4,705 posts)What is your candidate proposing to help poor, and working families, and homeless people stabilize their lives that really fires you up?

(8,445 posts)So do I, and if she somehow, through some miracle, gets the nomination, I will be full on board and will work my ass off to help get her elected. I would be ecstatic to see her get elected, and I honestly think she would pummel Orangeface.
Bernie Sanders? I'll tell ya, people like this speaker, and also some on this forum, are really pushing me away. I'll freely admit that I've never been a fan, and I will absolutely dread it if he gets the nomination.

(4,705 posts)I simply feel we get too focused on picking the fly shit outta the pepper here sometimes. There are probably people attending every candidates events who do not represent that candidates positions exactly.

(8,445 posts)I want someone on our side to get elected who can get things done. What I see about Sanders is that he seems to have the "I alone can fix this" attitude that somebody else spouted. I am not at all saying that I disagree with all of his ideas. But talk, is cheap. It's the implementation of those ideas that matters. I just don't consider Sanders to be a team player, and if we're going to take our country back from the Repukes, we need to be on a strong team. Divisive rhetoric isn't going to accomplish that.

(8,445 posts)I don't like it. That doesn't mean that I dislike some aspects of it. But as a whole, this person turns me OFF. If you want your guy to get elected, that should be important to you, because a whole lot of people think as I do. You need their votes.

(28,816 posts)That is what happens when people post stuff. Relentlessness is a trait that turns a lot of people off and impacts who they may support.

(922 posts)Sawant is way over the top. Turns off many liberals and progressives in the Seattle metro area. Is an easy target for rethugs to focus on. Will give her credit for $15 minimum wage. Other of her ideas, not so much.

A Marxist publication is what you equate with this?
How does everyone feel about the birth of the labor movement (in a swing state, I might add)? I'm glad to get Saturday and Sunday off because of some people who went against capitalist oppression.

(92 posts)For another, she ran for office and worked within the system to produce results for people. I'm not arguing that her words aren't a liability, but if you strip off her self proclaimed label, her ideas aren't that radical and she isn't a communist.
The conclusion of that article, in caps, is "DON'T VOTE. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME ANYWAY." That's a far cry from working within the system to bring about change.
