Democratic Primaries

I'm dropping my ballot off today so I'll (hopefully) stop getting daily mail from him, although I suppose it's kinda too late. Oh well, the USPS can probably use the money.

There is such a thing as too much and in Bloomberg's case, his advertising is overkill. You can't annoy people into voting for you.

(8,445 posts)As a minimalist at heart, I've gotten in the habit of sorting my mail as soon as I bring it in and tossing everything I don't need right away. I hardly ever get anything of real importance in this digital age anyway.

Throw it in the recycling bin before I go in the house. Bloomberg has money to burn, so he probably figures he'll just bombard people with political flyers and commercials, so they will vote for him. The problem is he is still Mike Bloomberg and no amount of advertising can change that.

(8,445 posts)But it does rub me the wrong way that he flaunts it.
I mean, he's really in a no-win situation. If he were to ask others for money, then I'd be thinking he should spend his own. But with the ridiculous amount of wealth that he has, and flaunts, it really does leave a bitter taste in my mouth.
He can't be bought, but neither can I. (Just want to hasten to add, I'm far from wealthy.)

Michael R. Bloombergs presidential campaign has been experimenting with novel tactics to cultivate an online following, or at least the appearance of one.

How is that different from what the Russins did? And, no it's not ok because he is now, at least for the time being, a Democrat. He's paying staffers $2500 a month to go on social media and pretend to be average posters and attack other candidates. It's not that he can't be bought; it's that he is trying to buy the nomination with false ads, misrepresenting his past actions and statements, and creating the impression of a grass roots movement when there is none.

(51 posts)I have a parrot. His morning ritual is to step out onto the door of his cage and take a giant dump on our floor, so I have to put papers down in that one spot.
Bloomberg's mailers are large, not cheap little postcard sized ads. And they are nice thick glossy paper, not the kind where the poop soaks right through if it's runny. And as if that's not enough, his face is close to the middle, not right on the edge like some campaign layouts. So it's possible to make a game of trying to line it up for target practice.
I'm going to be sad when he drops out.
