My brain first assumed the reverse because, well, that's the norm in our society.

That memo is pretty darn cool.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I thought, "No, that doesn't sound like Joe!"

Good for him to encourage staff to put their families first.

I'm teasing... Methinks that if Joe Bide found out that one of his staffers was missing important family stuff to do work for Joe, he'd be having words and taking some action like sending that person to their family, not being a "Susan Collins Disappointed"

Long ago Joe said, "Washington can always get another senator, but my kid can't get another dad". He was ready to give up his career in Washington before it even began. Family first.

Joe knows, more than most people, that family can be lost in the blink of an eye and when least expected. He wants people to cherish their families when it counts most.

And that is why I can never forgive the rethug hate'n'smear machine - they have been attacking his last living child from his first marriage. That's not just politics, it's some particularly vicious cruelty.
