But just the same, black markets formed by impoverished people to get what they need to live are everywhere and have been for decades. 15. Biden did not push for that bill
Thu Feb 27, 2020, 06:20 PM
Feb 2020

The GOP did.

Joe Biden did vote for the bill, after some amendments made it slightly less horrible. He was the senator of Delaware at the time and his vote does reflect his constituency.

The bill would have passed without his vote, but the amendments rendering it slightly better would not have. Wish he had voted no, all the same.

Yet, let none forget the push to make bankruptcy harder for all, except the wealthy, and the push to deregulate the banks and savings & loans came from
the GOP, and its mindset that everyone in financial distress must be a "taker" unless that person was born rich (this president is a serial bankrupt).

The outright theft continues in Russia to this day.

Thu Feb 27, 2020, 07:26 PM
Feb 2020

Around the time Sanders was there, my neighbors in the midwest US emigrated from the USSR. Both were Jewish professionals who, when in the USSR, were taken from their jobs and homes and put to work "in agriculture", meaning, picking crops. For that reason, the husband could not bear to garden in his own yard in the midwest. When he went back to Moscow to visit his elderly mother, one of the things he did was stand in long lines to get a few fruits and vegetables for her, as she had not had any in some time, and, living in an apartment, she had no space to grow anything.

So much for their non-deprivation...

Republicans are downright giddy about all this. What’s a scarier term to the American public than “socialist”? And with one of the leaders in the Democratic Party embracing it, their pitch to voters that Democrats want to radically change the country to something unrecognizable just got a lot easier.

“You add up things like packing the Supreme Court, getting rid of the electoral college, the Green New Deal and Medicare for none and you have a prescription of turning America into something it never has been and never should be,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said recently. “So we intend to be on the offense in running our races."

“We’re going into the war with some socialists,” Trump told a fundraiser in April.

This could be the defining debate of the 2020 election. Trump is so happy with that. Sanders is fine with that. The rest of the candidates aren’t so sure. But given the way this debate is shaping up, they may have no choice but to pick a side.

They don't have any video of Biden saying, "I AM a socialist." Nope. They don't have any footage of Biden praising Castro. There's a lot of things they have to use against Bernie. Not so much against Biden, so they'll have to try to tie him to Obama and hope that works.

Bernie's gonna get slammed and slammed hard. Oh, yes...There are oodles of videos they can excerpt. And they will.

And the GOP won't hesitate to just make things up.

The only reason you might think that there's more "dirt" on Bernie is because people on this board are posting Bernie smears all day. But that's DU, that's not reality. In reality, Bernie is no more or less smearable than any other candidate.

The GOP will smear whoever the nominee is. That's a given.

Find me recordings of other candidates praising Castro and talking about how Soviet Moscow is. Some Berners are kidding themselves in a major way.

That doesn't mean that the GOP won't smear other candidates besides Bernie. People who think that are kidding themselves.
