Race

55% African American (slightly down from 2016)
41% White
3% Hispanic

Ideologically (self-described)

40% "Moderate"
9% "Conservative"
20% "Very liberal"

The African American vote should be more like 60 percent. The white vote should be more like 35 percent.

I strongly suspect that the difference was made by GOP voters entering the primary to vote for Sanders.

Only 25% of Democrats consider themselves to be "very liberal". Not just in SC, but nationwide.

conservative: 11%
moderate: 38%
liberal: 32%
very liberal: 15%

52% are moderate or conservative

There are still some of them older southern white Democrats in South Carolina who call themselves conservative. It is actually a codeword for something else, but I guess we can't talk about that tonight.

Senator Harris did though in one debate against Biden. Kudos to her.

...and it will be interesting to see what happens on Super Tuesday. That's the first time Bloomberg is on the ballot and I'm curious to see what kind of support he actually has.

30-44: 18% (-2)
45-64: 43% (-4)
65 & older: 29% (+10)

So, under age 44 groups together = 28%
45 and up age groups = 72%
