Bernie is still projected to get most of the delegates

Come super Tuesday so Buttigieg dropping out doesn’t change the fact. People already voted early in California and Texas. Biden hasn’t really run much ads in the Super Tuesday states and it’s not changing the fact Bernie will have a large delegate lead after Tuesday.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. The people that voted early in CA and TX are, by definition, those less likely to change their votes. The "persuadables" and undecideds, by definition, didn't vote yet. And the early vote in CA so far is only about 20% of the expected vote.

2. If Sanders' delegate lead after Tuesday is less than 200, then Biden will surpass him by the end of the race.

3. Buttigieg dropping out made it more likely that Warren and Bloomberg get over 15% in big states like CA and TX, which will limit Sanders' delegate haul. It was better for Sanders when there were more people in, because then possibly none of them cleared 15% and Bernie would get all the delegates.

4. There is virtually no chance that Bernie goes into Milwaukee with 1991+ delegates now. And if he doesn't have a majority, he won't end up getting the nomination - because he has pissed off supporters of the other candidates so much, they'll never coalesce around him to get him to 50%.

In the early weeks, he had all the monentum, so 80% of voters waiting likely mean they are not sold on him. The only question is how much of that 80% Biden picks up. My guess is Biden picks up a massive haul of that 80%.

Once we stop beating ourselves up, there is a big easy orange target waiting for us to pummel.

Just look at the polls right now (even with our internal bickering). Merist pop from yesterday puts NC in play with a slight D lead with both Bernie and Biden. East Carolina poll also out Biden in front and Bernie competitive.

Merist puts Texas as competitive with both.l, as dies the UTT poll.

YouGov puts both at +6 or better head to head with Trump.

We might have our preferences, but both finalists can definitely win and should win against Trump.

When my son was about thirteen he and my husband were in their season’s ticket seats at a Seattle Sonics game. They won a drawing for an all expense paid trip to LA to see the Lakers and Sonics play. The tickets belonged to the owner so they were right behind the Lakers’ bench in full Sonic regalia, my kid yelling like mad for the Sonics, who got their asses handed to them. They got a lot of ribbing from the players. I’m told at one point Kobe went back to my kid, clapped him on the back and said “That’s okay man. You cheer for your team.”

prior to the SC primary and I suspect some of those were from before the last debate. Given that two candidates withdrew from the race, that Biden is currently surging, and that Bernie has underperformed the polls in three out of the four states, I would not be exuding such confidence about Bernie's situation. The worst part is that after Super Tuesday, there will be another group of southern states voting later in March and Bernie will likely have abysmal showings in all of them.

But then again, if there is one thing SC showed me that s that those of us who think Sanders spells electoral suicide don’t have to just sit back and let it happen. Biden wasn’t my first or even second choice. But he is a principled Democrat who can win (IMO) and right now that is what matters most to me. I will support him until we have a clear nominee. If it Sanders, I will vote for him. But that is about all I can say.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

The vote for Bernie is not as locked in as you profess. The major windfall in SC was what many in California (including me) were waiting for.

And Texas was Biden & Sanders neck and neck before SC. Biden may win Texas now.

They have been waiting for someone to break through who has the best chance to take us back to normal.

Looks like they are jumping on the Joe bandwagon after SC.
