(3,185 posts)For now, let's focus on supporting Joe. If you haven't voted already, vote. If you haven't donated yet, do so. Share videos from Joe's campaign with family and friends.
Let's help Joe end this fight early!

(12,011 posts)The rest of us haven't had the chance to speak yet, and will face a much smaller set of options when we do. And many here seem to think we should have no voice at all.

(71,542 posts)delegates he wins? He will likely win Michigan and maybe Washington as he is up in some polls...than come florida where Biden is 50 points ahead of Sanders...Biden is going to be the nominee...and often it is over when I vote in Ohio...so what? I am excited for a general and in showing Trump the door...a primary is to select a nominee...and that is most likely over now.

(25,048 posts)Why aren't all of the primaries held on the same day? That way, every candidate gets a fair shot at winning some support. I vote in New York and we don't get to voice our opinions until late April. By then, candidates for whom some voters might want to express their support will be long gone. Is that fair representation? Too bad for us voters in the late primary states.
By the way, get rid of those stupid and antiquated caucuses; in a modern world, they're unrepresentative.

(1,620 posts)The way our primaries are set up... it's ridiculous I'm in Kansas and I think only once have I been able to feel like my vote counted in the Dem primary. Even if it was "my guy" somehow we decide that after less than half the nation has voted that we are done. Everyone pack up. Move along. The attitude once a few states have voted, even before Super Tuesday is vicious, even though we've seen people bounce back from early losses to win it all.
There has to be something better than what we are doing. I don't understand why we can't have a set time for rallies, state tours and visits, debates, etc., and then have a weekend of ranked voting so we don't piss off and defranchise a good chunk of the party.
But that doesn't address these type of posts on DU. And I hope this neener-neener, my candidate can beat up your candidate talk is LEFT HERE ON DU and not out in public. Talk about disenfranchising people.
I was for Warren. I didn't get to vote for her. I'm not surprised because even though she is very qualified, most of the media would talk about Biden and Bernie and then skip her and her second or third place wins to talk about someone who got zero votes (Bloomberg) or Steyer. All men. I'm sorry. I can't be happy about this primary season. I feel like the misogyny was rampant and now I'm stuck with two older men that will likely only serve one term and then put us through this again - and probably not accomplish as much as we would like. AND we have all this strife. IT IS NOT HELPING THE HALF OF THE PARTY THAT LIKELY FEELS DISINFRANCHISED JUST LIKE I DO.
Geez. I'm sorry but these type of gleeful, my-guy-will-win, screw you guys posts are NOT helpful. (Not you, democrattotheend, you just happened to be the post I connected with.)
At this point, I don't want to vote for Biden OR Bernie because of the behavior of their followers. I'm equating the BS to the candidate and I'm a lifelong Dem that would rather crawl on broken glass than vote for a Republican. AND I'm here in DU, so I'm used the this neener-neener, sophomoric taunting.
I still will vote blue. But how many people are we turning off and turning away by the snarling over our candidates? We're getting an old white guy. Period. Joe is kind and will be fine and in many ways has earned it. Bernie is Jewish and it would be a joy to vote for the first Jewish president.
But the taunting is REALLY staining my view of the candidates. Just think how this type of taunting plays outside hard-core Dem circles.
Think about it.

(3,623 posts)There is no chance Sanders will win the primary at this point. I'm not trying to be arrogant about it either. The polling is disastrous for Sanders in Florida and other places. There's nothing for Biden to gain by engaging Sanders in an actual campaign the rest of the way. Heck, I think this could be over on March 10th.

(1,944 posts)I don't get this board sometimes. If your guy is winning and looks like he is going to get the nomination, be fucking gracious. Reach out to the competition and thank them for a great run.
What is the point in shitting on the people who aren't getting their guy? People that your guy is probably going to need in order to beat Trump?
That is exactly the type of attitude that Putin and Trump are looking for.

I have, absolutely, no problem voting for Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden.
Our main concern should be obvious.
