Inslee, a Democrat, has indicated he might announce a 2020 presidential bid primarily focused on climate change as soon as this week.
Inslee, 68, is two years into his second term as governor of Washington, and served last year as chairman of the Democratic Governors Association. On Sunday, he hinted at a presidential run in an interview with CBS Face the Nation, saying he could announce a candidacy primarily focused on addressing the harmful effects of climate change as soon as this week.

(10,721 posts)This is a tricky matter.
What we ought to do is get rid of the Senate and expand the House.

But getting rid of the Senate would require a constitutional amendment, and getting rid of the filibuster requires a change in Senate rules at the beginning of the next session. Currently the filibuster does not protect the minority, it allows it to rule the majority, distorting everything it doesn't kill outright.
IMO we should never have had a Senate in the first place, but Baby Steps.
