5. Choosing A Woman For VP
Sun Mar 8, 2020, 12:41 PM
Mar 2020

NO! I caucused for Hillary Clinton in Kansas when I was a Kansas Voter and I mourned and still do when she lost. She would have been a very good President. This is NOT the time to pick a woman VP. Let's wait until Norm (see Doonesbury) is back.
These are not normal times. Pete Buttigieg or maybe, if he can get his mojo back, Beto (who could conceivably get Texas). There are others who would work.

and he doesn't choose a woman, it won't be just the women who are angry.

In my opinion, for the Democratic Nominee not to chose a woman to be on the ticket would be the single stupidest move that he could make. It would risk handing the election to Donald Trump, and it would make the entire election cycle painful. I'm male, and I am praying that the nominee is Biden and that he chooses a woman of color to be the VP. I'd be super pissed if he did not choose a woman. I could only imagine how pissed the ladies would be.

are the candidates you mean.

Re possible running mates for Biden:

Warren, Klobuchar and Harris are all VERY qualified. They also all hold Senate seats we need.

But of the three, Harris seems most likely, for both demographic and geographic reasons if anyone's thinking in traditional balance-the-ticket terms.

I will be extremely disappointed. That will be full on Willie Hortoncrime bill response fight individual bigotry with defense and endorsement of systemic white supremacy- yet again. Same pursuit of white racist men, as it ever was.
We have to do better than checking demographic boxes. It needs to be someone with a strong record of pursuing social equity for women and all other people who experience oppression. The congresswoman who represents my district is no better than the worst of the republicans. We have to truly do better.

I've heard her floated because of WI being a key state, but I just don't find her to be very dynamic and there's no guarantee they help bring in any new voters in that state.

I don't care about the gender, race, financial status, sexual orientation or any other attribute of the running mate as long as he/she contributes to us winning.

What we would like to see takes second place to winning.
