if he did? I know there are the "my way or the highway and damn the consequences" voters, but surely not all are like Susan Sarandon and Michael Moore?

It would look hypocritical to spend the entire campaign talking about the existential threat that Trump poses, then make it more difficult for us to get rid of him.

Furthermore, his book sales would plummet if he were to do that.

If he wants to damage Democrats and the Democratic Party and usher in another four years of Trump, he's already shown that he and his supporters can do that just fine without him running as a third party candidate.

He signed an agreement that he won't do that

and

"sore loser" laws will preclude him from being on the ballot in a lot of states like Michigan. In other states, the deadline for filing as independent is the same as the deadline for filing in any party's primary. So Sanders would have missed the deadline to file as an independent.

At this point you pretty much have to be deaf and blind to not know what Tulsi stands for--she only appeals to Trump's base (and I do not see them abandoning him for her)

He could devastate the GE if he wanted. No chance of winning, but all he would need is 10%.

And he won't do that.

Anything to create dissension within the Democratic Party thus weakening the opposition to Trump and the GOP. Trump's numerous tweets bemoaning the treatment of Sanders by the DP is another example of their goal of creating dissension. It's what conservatives do.
