(127,341 posts)150-200 delegates after Super Tuesday. As the Bloomberg campaign, I lowered my estimate down to a 100-150 delegate lead for Biden. I wasn't surprised when another candidate showed up near the top in Iowa or New Hampshire. Thus far, the only surprise this entire primary season for me is that Bernie did as well as he did in Nevada. It looks like my other predictions will be on track after California completes counting the ballots.

I can't recall seeing shifts in polling like this
I've looked a few times. Here's one from today:

538 have the underlying collection of polling data to back them up. (as you would expect of them)
Sanders needs to work on his concession speech.

(53,061 posts)Two different things
1) Biden is lifting us up
2) Sanders campaign is collapsing
Everyone is so tired that everyone, except a relatively small number of Sanders diehards want to finish with the playoffs and get to the World Series.
24 hours and it's done

(53,061 posts)a corrupt evil system and continue to self anoint himself as a pure saint and will offer his candidacy as an opportunity for other pure of heart to contribute to.
He will then (in a very misleading way) get people to contribute to the campaign to build a post campaign war chest that he will leverage to primary moderate Democrats like AOC did.
He will see his legacy as getting people to donate to a campaign he will not spend on so he can continue to frame himself as a blessed innocent who banks contributions from project A and in the future spend tens of millions defeating moderate Democrats in a bloody political pay back because they stopped him from being President because, you know, they are corrupt and he and his supporters are innocent and pure.
IMO he will be (even more) embittered by the enormity of the defeat he will suffer today and will never miss an opportunity to pay back on a party that never embraced him and he never joined. He will speak out against Trump. Whether I am right or not will be seen if he a) continues to aggressively raise money b) whether he spends it or hoards it.

(45,806 posts)presented, and I believe it's mainly because so many caucus States have switched to regular elections. I'm still not sure why
Bernie wins all the caucuses but he did the same in 2015. I don't think his ego will let him quit yet. And that's not a slam to Bernie,. You HAVE to have a big ego to even RUN for President!

(127,341 posts)so that everyone gets to vote. I hope that the following day he has the grace and humility to concede rather than dragging it out until the convention. During the next few months though, I hope that Bernie will avoid the negative campaigning and work to calm the attacks from his surrogates and supporters.

(42,862 posts)Meanwhile, his campaign's scorched-earth and kneecapping philosophy will continue in full force I fear. In spite of a 100% certain loss, the Sanders campaign and surrogates will be busy smearing, slicing, dicing, denigrating our party's nominee.

(13,913 posts)otherwise he'll be doing the same thing he did with Hillary, costing her valuable time & resources having to primary the rest of the states.
I'll also add that this should teach the DNC a lesson NOT to allow independent candidates to run under the Dem ticket. It's dangerous and divisive, as i've mentioned before.

(45,806 posts)2015 campaign I was thrilled when Obama picked him for his VP. So when I saw his poor showing in the first 3 States, I was really figuring Bernie would be or nominee. Needless to say I was ecstatic when he won SC by such a large margin. Now, I don't think anything can stop.
