Related: About this forumSanders knocks Biden over short speeches
PoliticoThe remarks from the Vermont senator targeting the former vice president came at a Fox News town hall for Sanders, where a participant charged that Bidens answers don't make sense and asked Sanders whether it was acceptable for a White House hopeful to answer questions like Joe Biden does?
Sanders said that when his campaign conducts events and rallies, we respect people in a sense that we give really substantive these guys will think maybe too long-winded answers, he said, gesturing to the forums moderators.
There are real crises facing this country. When I give a speech, often its 45 minutes or an hour, OK? Because there are a lot of challenges that the country faces, and Ive got to talk about them, Sanders continued, before launching into a critique of Biden.
Fidel Castro always likes long speeches...

(5,825 posts)No one wants to be scolded for 45 minutes to an hour. Thats why Sanders numbers are underwater. Nothing but nasty divisiveness on repeat.
Just go home Bernie. Spend some quality time with family while you can.

No one is going to remember anything from Bernies stump speeches

Spot on. Bernie's stump speech is only memorable in the sense that it's the same speech he's been giving for five years!

I'm tired of comparing the length of this to the length of that. Whatever.
What a useless observation from Bernie -- and from a town hall on Fox News nonetheless.

(13,913 posts)Joe's well-writtened, well-timed speeches are DA BOMB - full of substance and issues ordinary Americans grapple with everyday.
Bernie is grasping at straws as usual. I'd rather watch a substantive 7-minute speech than a long rant containing nonsensical ideas by a finger-wagging grumpy uncle.

(8,790 posts)I shit you not. The US Democratic Socialists group had a whole discussion about it, most thought it was a great idea. They even went so far as to say they were doing Joe a favor, that by going negative about Joe's speech now is better than Trump doing it in the G.E.
These are the good guys? If this is where they are at, that means they have nothing left to say. Their argument and movement is out of gas, both in enthusiasm and intellectualism.
I consider myself a progressive, but this disgusts me.
